AS1221: Telstra Limited
Australia · consumer ISP
Estimated users is a published estimate of how many people use this network, extrapolated from 4,573,051 observations over a 60 day window. Large operators often run several networks, so a low figure can mean their customers reach the internet through a sibling network.
What this tells you
- An estimated 9,271,291 people use this network, from 4,573,051 observations over a 60 day window, which puts it among the larger access networks in Australia.
- Its space resolves to 5 countries, concentrated almost entirely in Australia (99% of the IPv4 space), so it is effectively a single-market network despite the spread.
- Of those, 9,271,291 are in Australia, 41% of everyone online there.
- The same operator runs 7 other networks, listed below.
- 79 distinct organisations hold registered assignments inside this space, so an address here often belongs to one of their customers.
Countries in this space
Space we can place in a country covers 100% of this network's IPv4 space and 100% of its IPv6 space. The table below divides that space.
| Country | IPv4 share | IPv6 share | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Australia | 99% | 100% | |
| Everything else (4 more) | <0.1% | <0.1% |
Organisations holding assignments here
Registered organisations account for 99% of this network's IPv4 space and 100% of its IPv6 space. The table below divides that space. Registered holders come from the bulk whois that RIPE, APNIC and AFRINIC publish. ARIN and LACNIC do not publish theirs, so space held in North and South America is largely unattributed here.
| Organisation | IPv4 share | IPv6 share | |

| Everything else (78 more) | 0.3% | <0.1% |
