Refund policy
Last updated 31 August 2026
Your first subscription can be cancelled within 14 days for a refund of the part you have not used. Monthly and yearly plans are treated the same way. After that, cancelling stops the next payment and the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
The first 14 days
This applies to the first paid subscription an account holds. Ask within 14 days of the first payment and you get back the part of the period you have not used, on a monthly plan and a yearly plan alike.
It is one offer per account rather than one per subscription. Cancelling and subscribing again does not start a new window.
How the unused part is worked out
From two figures together: how much of the period has passed, and how many lookups have been spent against the allowance it bought. Whichever of the two has been used more is the one that decides it, so a month barely started but heavily used is not refunded in full.
The arithmetic is shown to you before the refund is confirmed. If it looks wrong, say so before accepting it rather than after.
After that, and on later subscriptions
Cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops the next payment. The plan keeps working until the end of the period already paid for, and the account then returns to the free plan. The part of the period already paid for is not refunded.
An unused daily allowance is not credited, kept or refundable. It refills the next day either way.
How to ask
Cancel from your account page, then write to [email protected] from the address on the account and say you want the refund. Nothing else is needed, and there is no form to fill in.
How a refund reaches you
Refunds are made through our payment provider, back to the method you paid with. We cannot send it anywhere else, because the payment was never held by us. How long it takes after that is between them and your bank, and it is usually a few working days.
The free plan
Nothing is charged for it, so there is nothing to refund. Closing a free account is immediate and is done from your account page.
If something has gone wrong
Write to [email protected] before asking your bank to reverse a payment. A chargeback takes weeks, costs both of us a fee, and closes the account while it runs. Almost everything people open one for is something we would simply have refunded.
Your rights as a consumer
Nothing here removes a right you have under the law of the country you live in, including any statutory right of withdrawal. Where that law gives you more than this page does, it is the law that applies. The full terms are on the terms of use page.
